Peachy Keen Stamps

Wow it has been awhile since I created a card for this site. The challenge for this week is kind of a recipe.
Ingredients:
Make a card
Use the colors PINK AND BROWN as the main color scheme.
Use a stamped image (preferably Peachy Keen Stamp - but not required)
Incorporate a piece of ribbon
Use some type of glitter (stickles are fine!)

The glitter on the wings did not show as I would have like it to, however I do believe the challenge has been met. My card is complete.

Labels:

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Color

Orange is the color for this challenge...well actually Kraft, orange is. Not sure what that is so I will go with just plain ole orange.

The challenge has been met (I think), my card has been created.

Okay...Lora from Digital Tuesday was kind enough to explain to me what color is Kraft in her comment on my card. Now that I do know I decide to post a second card using the proper colors. My color of choice is the golden yellow. Thank you Lora.

Labels:

Double Challenge

Wow I can not believe how perfect this is...I have a friend who just redid her kitchen in red and yellow.

This covers 2 challenges. Sherrod Studio which is a color challenge (you will find the colors here) and A Spoon Full of Sugar which is a theme challenge...guess what the theme is...Kitchen/Cooking!

I have met the challenges and my card is done.

This time if you want the link send me a thank you tag and I will email you addy...and believe me you will want the link, that is if you use digi papers. Really this site is awesome!

Sherrod Studio - Emboss Resist

The requirement for the second challenge over at Sherrod Studio is to show emboss resist on the project. Now my challenge is how to show this digitally. I think using a mask is the ticket. Here is how it would work if I was doing it cut and paste style. I would coat my stamp with a clear resist and stamp it on the blue card stock...then I would take the white stamp pad and stamp over the card. The challenge has been met, my card is done.

Labels:

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Things With Wings

The challenge is to use something with wings.

I enjoyed using PSP on this challenge. Using PSP allowed me to do some special effects on the card. I just love faeries don't you?

Double Challenge

This card covers two challenges. Bling It Something over at Stamp Something and 2RedBananas, Banana Slit Sunday sketch which you will find here.

Copic Markers for Paint Shop Pro

Copic Makers seems to be a really big deal in the cut and paste world so I checked them out online...boy are they pricey and they bleed too. I decided to check and see if they are available for use with the graphic programs. I found Copic brushes for Photo Shop but not for PaintShopPro which is the program I use. How sad. :(

I set out yesterday to make my own brushes for PSP...boy what a tedious task. There are over 300 colors, don't know why there are so many when many of them are very very close in range, but I decided to get all the colors they have so far. I am only at the beginning stage...I should be done with the task sometime this afternoon. Then I can say I have Copic Markers too...best part they were free for me...and in this daily struggle free is good! Just thought I share!

Jaggs

365 Card Challenge - Super Sketchy Sunday

Here is the sketch for today. I down load a new freebie the other day that has a very pretty color combo in it. I decided to use the kit for today's challenge. The kit is called IMendez PearPerfect and I d\l it from Gottapixel. You will find a link on my blog in the right column. I actual ended becoming a member of Gottapixel because I found so many cool papers and kits that were not among the freebies that I just had to have. Best part about the site is that the prices are very reasonable! Any way I have met the challenge and my card is done!

365 Card Challenge - Shape-Up

Use a large half circle or many little half circles on your card is the challenge. This should be an easy challenge.

As you can see I am into the Asian theme right now. I really like the beauty of the papers and the simplicity of the elements. I came across some Asian symbol brushes which has become very useful for the sentiment on my cards. Anyway the challenge has been met and my card is done.

365 Card Challenge - Colors Scheme

Today's challenge is a color scheme...you will find the required colorshere.

Because Torendi means trendy in Japanese and Torendi is the host for this week at 365 Cards I decide to go with a Japanese theme on this card...using the chosen colors of course. I have several Kimono sewing patterns in my stash, so I thought I would use an image of one as my focal point.

I decided to create my own digi paper for today's challenge using the required colors...that is another thing I like about PSP, it allows me to create. The challenge has been met, my card is done.

365 Card Challenge - Same, but Different

Because of the different digi kits that I have this challenge was easy for me. The challenge is to use at least 2 papers that have the same pattern but are different in color. In the digi kits you will often find digi papers with the same pattern but different in color. The difficulty came in when trying to choose which kit I was going to use, the other day I download about 10 additional kits. Anyway I made my choice and the challenge has been met...my card is done.

If you are interested the sentiment reads: "Comfy jammies, cozy bed, big soft pillow for your head. Worry not, the world can wait. Take your time Recuperate. Hope you're feeling better soon!"

365 Card Challenge - Super Sketchy Sunday

My favorite card day. Here is the sketch.

I decided to use a digi kit for most of the card. The kit is produce by gottapixel.com. I decided to use three of the papers, two sentiment labels and the flower brads from the kit. The spheres were from tubes within PSP, I just resized them. The challenge has been met my card is done.

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Music to My Ears

Music to my ears is this weeks challenge at Digital Tuesday. It does not matter what you do with your project as long as a feel of music is heard.

I like the song Silver Bells so I went in search of the sheet music and some silver bells for my card. I found them both. Challenge has been met, my card is done.

Labels:

Stamp Something - Brown Plus Something

The challenge is the color brown. The color brown must be in heavy supply on your card. I used 3 papers that contain the color brown. The challenge has been met and my card is done.

Labels:

365 Card Challenge - Two Techniques

For this challenge I am not sure what Pam meant by two techniques. What I understand the challenge to be, you are required to use a cut image, shape or whatever and layer it on your card to create distance.

I have two images, one of a snowman from a coloring book page and another of a winter scene which is actually a digi frame. I layered the snowman in the foreground on top of the winter scene and added shadowing. The winter scene, now the background does appear to be in the distance. I do hope this represents the challenge. The challenge has been met (I think), my card is done.

365 Card Challenge - In the Shadows

I use shadows all the time when making my cards. Shadowing helps to show depth if used correctly in digital card making. With this challenge it is all about the shadows so I decided to offset the shadows quite a bit to emphasis. The challenge has been met the card is done.

365 Card Challenge - Imagine This: Denim

Denim is the word for today over at 365 Cards...how does denim inspire you? . I have added the standard denim fabric to other cards that I have made so I wanted to do something different this time. This time I decided to use a none standard denim fabric. I also am using a digi packet from katnkda.com called berrylish. I have used part of the kit on other cards that I made. This time I chose to use the butterfly, ribbon and 3 different papers from the kit. That is what I meant by using the parts of the digi kits over and over from a comment in an earlier post. The challenge has been met my card is done.

365 Card Challenge - In Stitches

I taught myself something new with this challenge. Thanks Pam, I always enjoy learning something new. The challenge is to include cross stitching on the card...again something I have not done before in PSP. I knew what the stitches were suppose to look like...back in the day I did a lot of it. After figuring out how to make it work, I contemplated making Aida cloth and cross stitching something on it within the program...but that would take way to long. The packet I chose to use for this challenge is called watermelon from http://emsarts.blogspot.com. I have met the challenge and my card is complete.

More Sharing!

To continue with my earlier post about digi packets. I thought I would post the image of a digi packet for those of you who don't really know what I am talking about. Below is a packet that I had download for FREE earlier. As you can see the items do look very close to being real. In this packet there are 14 papers that are 12"x12" and 300 resolution. There are numerous pieces of embellishments and very cute I might add.

The kits are intended for scrapbookers but I use them in my card making. Each item you see here is a separate file that can be opened with your image editor. As you know I use PaintShopPro. There are others like PhotoShop, PhotoShop Elements or even Gimp which is totally free.. The programs can be download as a trial program from their respected websites. I have provided links.

I am not trying to get you all to go digital...just thought I would get you all to see there is a way to save some money and time. The kit below was a free download from Craftyscraps.com, but if you were to purchase a similar packet it maybe would cost you about $3.99 which is about the going rate plus or minus. Now think about it there are 14 papers in this packet at what maybe $.99 per sheet in the store and you get to use them as many times as you like. You do the math and besides you get embellishments too!

Like I had stated earlier you all that do cut and paste can use the packets as well...just download and print them off as needed.

Just thought I share.

Hugs,
Jaggs

A few other digi packet sites are:

ScrapGirl.com (one of my favorites)
digifree.com
scrapbook.com

And that is just to name a few. Do the search...that is how I found them. If you like what you find drop me a post to let me know how it is going...I would be very interested. If you have questions or want more info...drop me a line at jaggs@att.net
