Mojo Monday Sketch

It is Monday and you know what that means! A new sketch at Mojo Monday Sketch.

I decided to use some of the paper that I made last week for this card. The medallion is made from one of the papers and the background is another. Actually a lot of elements are things that I made and added to the card.

365 Card Challenge - Movie Monday

This is my first challenge involving a movie. The challenge is to
make a card inspired by the movie Pretty in Pink. I seen the movie a couple of times. For the life of me I can not come up with something that had not been done. Here it is almost noon and I have been up since a little after 5 this morning. Well with this challenge I decided to go outside the box once again. Check it out!

Another try at digi painting...I am getting pretty good at this if I do say so myself...and I do. LOL

365 Card Challenge- Sketchy Sunday

It is sketchy Sunday again at 365 Card yippee!
I love doing the sketches. The lay-out is
provided and that makes it easier.

This card I printed off and assemble for a
friend of mind. I try to take a picture and it
seems that everything was lost...so once again
I am showing you the digital version of the card.

The image in the center is a black and white
digi stamp from DZ Doodles that I painted in
PSP.

Please leave a comment. It is nice to know that someone took the time.

365 Card Challenge - Sporty Saturday

Today's challenge we were required to use some
type of ball on the card. Well that sounds easy
enough. I checked my clip art for images of balls.
I found a few. I chose a couple I could work with.
I have a basketball, now I wanted a basketball hoop
without the ball. Found it!

I like the picture of the hoop so I added one
large image to my card and 2 small images. Looks
good. Now I need to add the ball so it looked
like it was going into the net. Got it! Now for
some text. Found the text I wanted. I wanted
it to look like it was cut from the basketball.
Now a little more embellishment, that should do it!

Stamp Something - Animal Something

All the sample cards for this challenge at
Stamp Something were sooo cute. I wanted to
do something worthy of them. When I created
this card and stood back and looked at it I
thought, if I had not created it myself I
would swear it was 3 dimensional. Not! The
kitten in the flower pot is actually a digi
stamp I purchased at DZ Doodles. Some of the
other embellishments are from the
'L'eau d'or' - 'Golden Water free download
kit at NKdigitalarts.com

365 Card Challenge - White Space

This challenge is called white space...don't
know why, it just is...well yes I do. Nothing
is to be put in the white space of the sketch.

The other day I made digital paper from
a scan of some fabric that I have. I made
buttons, brads, eyelet, ribbons, and other papers
to ordinate, using PSP. I decided to use some of them
in this challenge. I hope you like it!

In the comments Celeste had asked what part was the
fabric so I thought I share with you all the properties
of the card. Above to the right is the scanned image
of the fabric. Both ribbons were made from the scan. The
background paper was made from a selection of color from
the scan, then later texturized with PSP. The brads were
made from a rounded square selection of the background
paper. Last but not least the font was a choice from a
collection of installed fonts.

The papers and embellishments will be a part of an ethnic
digi packet that I am creating.

365 Card Challenge - Going Vintage

Today challenge is all about the "back in the day".
We were to use a vintage image on the card.

Wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I
searched the internet for vintage items hoping to
get some ideas. Nothing seem to hit me until I
came across the front cover of "Good Housekeeping"
magazine. The year was 1932, boy what a cutie. It
may me smile. That's it. It was the one. My image!

I did not want to use the whole image so I decided to
just select the boy. Now for the background. It had
to be something that would make the image stand out
while still having that vintage look. Check it out!

365 Card Challenge - Checkerboard Background

The challenge is to create or use a checkerboard
background on your card.

On this card I created a layer of squares in PSP.
I added another layer and flood filled every other
square with a selected pattern. I added another
layer and flood filled it with the other pattern
that I chose. Now I have my checkerboard background
but the card was still toooo plain. So I added
the raffia and flowers which I colored to match the
background and found a really nice font...now I have
my card!

Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge 10

For this challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps
we were given a sketch to interpret. I just
did one similar to this for another challenge.
I did not want to use the same one because it
is so much fun coming up with ideas.

When I looked at the sketch I thought of window
panes and decided to go with that idea. I have
yet to do my Christmas card and thought this
would be an ideal challenge.

I found a Christmasy image on the net and went
with it. Using Psp I developed a window pane,
drapes, and snow. Put it all together and came
up with the image below.

2 Red Bananas - Banana Split Sunday

Exploring different card making blogs I came across
2 Red Bananas who has card making challenges. This challenge
involved a picture and what inspires you
when you look at it. Well when I first looked at
the picture the first thing I saw was the pink
building and my mind took off from there...lol!

Digital Tuesday Challenge

Well I have a dilemma here. The challenge here
is to make a card with at least one item being
a digital image. Well all my cards are made
digitally, so it will be hard to choose one. If
I had to pick just one, I will pick the one I
did today for 365 Card Challenge - Back to school.

365 Card Challenge - Back to School

This was a fun challenge. I found a font
that really fits the bill. It is soooo
cute. The challenge has to do with Back
to School. I blended several images to
get what I wanted.

365 Card Challenge - Monogram Monday

The more and more I do the challenges, the
more I learn what my software can do. This
is great!

For this challenge we were to incorporate a
monogram. I choose to use 3 letters because
with this card it just seems to fit. The
card is also a tri-fold. The T' and R' is on
one side and the L' is on the other.

The opened card can be seen here

What are Digi Stamps?

You may be wondering what digi stamps are. I
know when I first hear the term I did not know.

Digi stamps are mostly very high quality black
and white images that you can get free on the
internet or you can purchase them.

Why would any one want to have a digi stamp? Well
the price is cost effective. Storage is simple.

Most people download the stamp, print it off and
then color it. Well to me that has one to many
steps. I figure I would color them using one of
the image manipulation programs, like PSP or PS.

I have not done this before so I need to practice.
Below are some of the results.

More Colorizing of digital stamp

Just practicing coloring digi stamps. Here is
a card that I made from a digi stamp. Practice
practice, practice!

Coloring a digi stamp

This is my first attempt at coloring a digi stamp

timer. I finally found the right brushes to use.

365 Card Challenge - Stampin Saturday

Wow it took me an extra day to figure this one out.
I knew what I wanted but did not know how to get
there. I ended up using another program
PhotoShopElements.

In PSE there was the heart stamp that I wanted to
use. I stamped it 6 times each on it's own layer.
I then chose a brush with a watercolor canvas and
painted each heart a different color. I set the
opacity to 75% on all layers. I overlap each layer
so they were all connected. Now I have my image.

I took the image into PSP because I knew the program
better. Here is where I added the background as a
gradient and then gave it a blinds effect. Below is
my resulting image.

it will work for this challenge and also save
me some time.

Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge9

I went through an old wallpaper book that I
have and scan some of them into my computer. I
saw this boarder and knew it would be perfect for
the card. I added the border and the two wallpapers
that matched into PSP. One of the wallpapers I
texturized with a weave plugin and came up with
the background image and I also used it to make
the buttons. Pretty cool don't cha think!

365 Card Challenge - Just Peachy

The requirement of this challenge is to use peach as
your main color. I wanted to do a harlequin type of
background so I create it using a digital paper from
Peachy Keen Stamps and another from a wallpaper design.
The lace is a brush style from the PSP program.

submit a card with your interpretation of a
sketch that is provided for you.

that provided the layout for my card.

This card was made using digital paper from
SG Refresh2 paper packet, SG Refresh2

365 Card Challenge - ABC and 123

Today's challenge was to use an alphabet sticker
and include at least one number. Since my cards
are done digitally that would not be a challenge
for me all I had to do was use a font to
create the sticker. I wanted to get a little
more creative...

Well it is a new week at 365 Card
Challenge and that means it is
Sketchy Sunday! The Sketch!

I thought I should explain this card a little.
The denim and the plaid are actually
wallpaper that I scanned into my computer.
The red is just a texture flood fill in
PSP and the button is a digi element that
I found after doing a search on the net.

365 Card Challenge - Mask

This challenge was to create a mask image
with a stamp. To do that when I was doing
paper card making, I would use a piece of
scrap paper to cover the part of the image
that I did not want to stamp on.

Well in PSP I would use layers to get the
same effect.

For the card that I created. The rose is
what I am using as my mask. I put each rose
on a different layer that way each rose
was controlled separately. The ending result
is the same.
